Las Cruces Academy, a small private school serving gifted and academically advanced students, grades EK – 8th is seeking a full-time certified teacher to be main kindergarten instructor. We need someone who can teach phonics and other early literacy subjects. We also expect that this teacher, like our other teachers, be involved with other subjects or interests.
We engage teachers who have strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching. The EK-K teacher is responsible for English language arts, math, social studies, and handwriting. Other teachers cover music, Spanish, and Chinese for the EK-K students. To complete the school day the EK-K instructor teaches several classes in higher grades. Currently these include reading and social studies for grades 1&2. Every teacher may also offer one or more elective classes for older students. Teaching duties are negotiated with all teachers.
Teacher salaries are competitive at $60K annually this academic year, 2025-26. Our teachers enter annual, renewable contracts. Upon hiring they must complete I-9 certification of work authorization as well as abuse prevention certification and ordinary arrangements for pay.
