21 August 2018. Congratulations, LCA Board member, David Gutschick! He just finished his Ph. D. at the Ohio State University, in Materials Science and Engineering. Our newly minted Ph. D. is also the son of Lou Ellen Kay, our Head of School, and Vince Gutschick, our Board Chair. His work was on mechanical properties of colloids, using laser tweezers and microscope video; you may see the results in artificial skin grafts down the line. David is also our go-to Web and computing wiz, essential for our Web presence and more.
You can see that science and math are big things with us; we love science and math, we love to teach these subjects; we love to share them. We also love languages – English, Spanish, Chinese – art, music, diverse cultures, PE, history, government, geography, cursive writing, phonics; they’re all integral in our curriculum, with social and emotional development binding it all together.
