On Friday, April 28th, our 1st- and 2nd-graders enjoyed a field trip out to Fort Selden. This site was a campground for Spanish soldiers in the late 1500s, then a Confederate Army post in 1861, and finally, a US Army post from 1865 until its abandonment in 1891. Students learned the history and then tried their hands, literally, at making adobe bricks. We thank the guides and our LCA parents who made the trip possible and enjoyable.
